If you have an Apple TV, or an AirPlay 2-compatible or Chromecast-compatible device, you can watch your rentals to your TV using our official apps.
Apple TV 4K (or Apple TV HD):
- Head to the App Store on your device to install the Letterboxd app. Once installed, sign in and select the Video Store tab to browse and rent available titles, or to watch other current rentals.
Chromecast (Android and web):
- Use the Letterboxd Android app to cast directly from the video player to a compatible device.
- Use Google Chrome on your computer to cast directly from the video player.
- Make sure both your phone, tablet, or computer are on the same wi-fi network as your Chromecast-compatible device. Note: Chromecasting from iOS isn’t supported.
AirPlay (iOS):
- If you’re watching from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can AirPlay your rental to any AirPlay 2-compatible device, including Apple TV 4K and some smart TVs.
Note: you can now AirPlay directly to most modern Roku devices as long as they’re on the same network. Your compatible Roku device must be running Roku OS 9.4 or higher. Please see Roku’s official documentation for more details.
