If you have an iOS or iPadOS device, you can AirPlay directly from the Letterboxd app. AirPlay is not supported on Android devices (see the section on Chromecast instead).
AirPlay from Letterboxd iOS:
- Tap play from inside the Letterboxd app.
- Tap the screen to reveal the player controls, then tap the AirPlay icon.
Select your Apple TV 4K (or other AirPlay 2-compatible device) from the list. - If a passcode appears on your TV, enter it on your device.
- Once AirPlay begins, your rental will play on the TV.
- Playback controls (pause, rewind, fast-forward, captions) remain available in the player on your device and from your Apple TV 4K (or Airplay 2-compatible device) remote.
Note: you can now AirPlay directly to most modern Roku devices as long as they're on the same network. Your compatible Roku device must be running Roku OS 9.4 or higher. Please see Roku's official documentation for more details.
